‘Family entertainment’: The Wingfeather Saga bucks Hollywood as largest crowdfunded animated series

THe casts, producers and investors Wingfeather Saga gathered in Nashville, Tennessee on Wednesday to celebrate the achievement of becoming the largest-grossing animated series.

Wingfeather SagaAn animated TV show based on the best-selling and award-winning fantasy book series by Andrew Peterson, distributed by Angel Studios, has grossed $6.7 million in crowdfunding to date, making it the top-grossing animated family show.

“Families everywhere long to experience an epic movie together, especially one that brings truth into sharp focus,” said Neal Harmon, CEO of Angel Studios. “It became clear to us when we helped make 10,000 angel investors Wingfeather Saga A reality.”

As a crowdsourced project, Wingfeather Saga Set as a multi-season series. Through Angel Studios, it raised the $5 million annual crowdfunding threshold for the first season in 20 days, paving the way for the show’s production. The show is now raising funds for additional seasons.

“Since enough [The Wingfeather Saga books] touch us deeply, and I knew I wanted to be a part of bringing that to the screen,” said lead investor Jason Melton. “Reading it is beautiful, but seeing it visually enables many more people to access the story and touch them in very personal, profound ways. This is useful, and it deals with real situations. It deals with danger and evil and dangers, families come together to help each other and fight for good. These are the kind of stories that inspire courage and hope, and that’s what we wanted to be a part of.

Actors, Producers and Investors of Angel Studios Wingfeather Saga The animated series celebrated its streaming release on December 2, 2022 at the Fisher Center for the Performing Arts on November 16, 2022 in Nashville, Tennessee.

The series features Jodi Benson, the voice of Disney’s Ariel The little mermaidFrom Kevin McNally Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, and The lost ones Henry Ian Cusick.

“I’m really excited,” said Benson, who plays Nia, the story’s featured mother. “It’s amazing to be a part of a project that is who I am and where I’m at as far as integrity, character and family entertainment.”

“I love the bear because the mama bear is in me and the mama bear comes out at the right time, at the right place,” Benson added. “Don’t mess with the kids. I love that about Nia because I can tell she really likes her kids. She is not just a responsible mother who takes care of them. ”
