‘Hemlock Grove’ To Return To Streaming FilmRise After Netflix Removed – Deadline

Hemlock Grove Coming back to the stream.

The Eli Roth-exec-produced horror drama series was pulled from Netflix last month, but now, thanks to a deal between producer/distributor Gaumont and FilmRise, the show will return to the air.

Based on the book by Brian McGreevy, developed with Lee Shipman, the series is produced by Eli Roth and follows strange events in a fictional town in Pennsylvania. Roman Godfrey, heir to the town’s wealthy Godfrey family, befriends Peter Rumancek, a newcomer to town. The town’s recent brutal murders have sparked rumors, and together they shed light on the case while also hiding their own dark secrets.

The series premiered in 2013 and ran for three seasons until 2015. However, it was pulled from Netflix in October.

It explores the early relationship between famed psychiatrist Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikaelson) and a young FBI criminal profiler (Hugh Dancy) haunted by his ability to empathize with serial killers. The series also stars Laurence Fishburne and Gillian Anderson

The deal was negotiated by Jonitha Keimore, VP of Global Content Acquisition for FilmRise, and Gary Marenzi for Gaumont USA.
