Top shows to play in NJ and NY this week

(Asbury Park, NJ) — Advanced, a band known for mixing and blurring the genres of pop-punk, R&B, and dance-pop, will play shows on Friday, November 18th at The Saint in Asbury Park and Saturday, November 19th at the Brooklyn Monarch. Both shows include Little Hag, Ghost Club and Bad Luck.

Higher’s long awaited Faithful EP Elvis in Wonderland Available to stream globally via Secret Friends Music Group. Considered roots in the band’s hometown of Las Vegas, Nevada – Elvis in Wonderland picks up where the band left off from their 2009 Epitaph Records studio release, It’s Only Natural.

Produced by Mike Pepe (Taking Back Sunday, As It Is, Bayside, Anthony Green), this pop rock project consists of five catchy songs written and recorded entirely during the COVID-19 pandemic. “Free ride,” the first single from the Elvis In Wonderland EP, discusses lyrical themes of deception and manipulation through a fresh pop-punk riff, accompanied by a music video that literally takes viewers on a free ride through the Vegas strip. Title Song “Elvis in Wonderland“Free Ride” follows the established opening storyline with fast guitar melodies and heart-pounding drums as our Elvis impersonator seeks to escape the reality of Sin City.

“Are We High?,” with the most recent track Support visualization, a clear departure from the band’s recent single releases. “Are we superior?” A dreamlike ballad that touches on the feelings of falling in love with someone for the first time.

Overall, the Elvis in Wonderland The EP has a cohesive sound and concept that will surely satisfy longtime fans of The Higher and serve as a great introduction for new listeners.

“It really is a labor of love. Between COVID and juggling schedules, it’s amazing that we were able to make it happen. Fortunately, we worked with great people. Mike Pepe and Rafa Alverez were huge in bringing this EP to the finish line. Super talented guys. Reggie and I are grateful to Tom and Jay for helping us with the writing process. Good things happen when the 4 of us get together, and Elvis is no different.” – Seth Trotter, lead vocalist of The Higher
