Migos: The last Instagram story to take off before the fatal shooting

Takeoff, a member of rap trio Migos, was shot and killed in Houston, Texas on Tuesday (November 1).

The rapper – full name Kirshnik Khari Ball – is 28 years old.

Police officers were called at approximately 2.34 local time (7.34 GMT) to reports of a shooting outside 810 Billiards and Bowling Alley in downtown Houston, where a private party of about 40 people was taking place.

Takeoff and Quavo from his band Migos were both in attendance. Quavo – real name Quavious Keyate Marshall – was not injured in the altercation. The third Migos member, Offset, was absent.

An argument ensued after a game of dice and shots were reportedly fired. Take off was dead on the spot.

His death has been mourned by industry figures and fans, and tributes have been paid to the late rapper on social media.

Celebrities including James Corden, Drake, SZA, Outkast, and Khloé Kardashian have shared posts remembering the rapper.

So far, no suspects have been arrested, with Houston Police Chief Troy Finer appealing for witnesses “to come forward” with information about the shooting.

The police as well as the rapper’s fans have called on others to remove graphic videos of the incident circulating online.

ICYMI: A video taken by TMZ The takeoff appears to show a person of interest with a gun in his pocket just before the fatal shot.

Takeoff’s bandmate Quavo is seen arguing with someone while the man is seen holding a gun.

The man can be seen drawing the gun before the gunshots are heard.
