UCLA Men’s Basketball Defeats Concordia in Preseason Exhibition

The Bruins won’t let history repeat itself.

No. 8 UCLA men’s basketball hosted Concordia University Irvine at Pauley Pavilion in a preseason exhibition Wednesday night, potentially bringing back memories of a very similar situation more than a decade earlier. The Bruins played the Eagles in an exhibition at home on the first Wednesday in November 2009, securing a victory that night alone thanks to Mustafa Abdul-Hamid’s last-second 3-pointer.

The rematch may have been tight early, but UCLA was able to play a much less stressful game this time around, defeating Concordia 93-63 to unofficially open the 2022-2023 campaign. Superstar seniors Jaime Jaquez Jr. and Tyger Campbell each scored 25 points in the contest, overcoming a slow start to bury the Eagles.
